Some of the best 3D printers in the industry got their start not through a huge commercial kickoff day, but through crowdfunding. That’s the case with the new offering from B-Creative.
It’s a Wi-Fi enabled, super-sleek 3D printer that not only looks great, but promises some pretty impressive features. What should you know about the printer?
Digging into the B-Creative Printer
The team behind the B-Creative printer knows that unless you have lots of experience with this technology, it can be a frustrating thing. It can also be messy and ugly.
The new printer was conceived of as a way to bring better accuracy, ease of use and aesthetics to home printing.
The printer is beautifully architected, and many people will immediately think of Apple’s design aesthetic when first seeing its sleek lines and curves. It’s also surprisingly large, featuring a built area of 160 mm by 180 mm by 160 mm.
Interestingly enough, the software that ships with the B-Creative printer actually lets you design and build things that are larger than the printer’s volume. By splitting a print into two different parts, you can create much larger items.
In theory, you could carry that to almost any extreme, printing very large items sequentially.
There are several other features that stand out here, as well. For instance, the filament loads into the printer from the side.
This is supposed to make the loading process easier, but also to help reduce mess and hassle.
You don’t even have to connect the printer to a computer. You can just use the SD card slot to load your designs.
The printer is also remote controlled through a smartphone app that allows you to access all the functions and features.
There’s a touchscreen built into the printer if you’d rather not use the app, and the B-Creative is capable of using PLA, TPU, wood-based filaments and Glow PLA to create objects. Of course, it’s also Wi-Fi enabled out of the box, so all you have to do is turn it on, configure the system, and get printing.
In terms of rewards, you’ll find a few on offer. For a single dollar, you get a thank you.
For $20, you get a t-shirt. The next tier is a huge jump in terms of price - $599 gets you the “early bird” model of the printer.
A pledge of $1099 gets you two printers, plus two pounds of PLA filament.
If this sounds like the type of thing you want to get behind, you can back the B-Creative team right here. Easy to use, durable and streamlined, there’s definitely a lot to love here.
