When it comes to the number of 3D printers on the market today, you have no shortage of options. There are small, compact models designed for desktop use.
There are mid-range models that offer larger build volumes, and there are massive ones that could fill your entire garage. Now there’s one more – a new 3D printer set to debut from MagicFirm Europe.
The Second Generation ZYYX+
It’s got a funny name, but the printer is no laughing matter. It’s actually a feature-rich option that promises to do a lot for your at-home printing efforts.
MagicFirm Europe just announced their new desktop printer and it’s got almost everything you might want.
The new ZYYK+ builds on the already feature-rich platform established with the original ZYYK 3D printer. According to the company’s CEO, Mats Moosberg, “The first ZYYK 3D printer was developed with a focus on reliability, ease of use, making it fume free and quiet since this was lacking in the existing 3D printers.
With the new ZYYK+, our objective has been to surpass our competitors when it comes to print quality.”
The ZYYK+ offers quite a few perks. Those include auto leveling, as well as an active carbon filter system to remove noxious fumes during the printing process.
The build chamber is enclosed, and it also provides both failed print detection and filament monitoring so you don’t need to worry about running out during the middle of a print.
However, the big news here is the print quality and stability. All the moveable parts near the print head are made from high-quality aluminum, which is designed to minimize vibration.
That offers significantly enhanced print stability and also allows better precision while printing. In fact, it provides a maximum resolution of 50 microns.
It also makes the printer itself last much longer, allowing buyers to maximize their investment.
The fan on the print head has also been modified. It’s more powerful for better cooling, but the new design also ensures that you can easily move the fan to the side if you need to get into the printer for maintenance.
Finally, the included Simplify 3D software allows you to control fan speed, setting it higher or lower depending on your needs.
You’ll find both a USB and an SD card slot, and the printer is capable of working with almost any type of filament you might prefer, from ABS and PLA to nylon, PET, Laywood and Laybrick, and many others, as well.
If this sounds like the printer you need, it’s available on the market now. It’ll set you back almost $2,100 though, so it’s definitely not one for the budget home printers out there.
With that being said, the level of quality and durability here is excellent, so it would make a great investment.
