Zortrax M200 OverviewAt just under $2,000 the Zortrax M200 is perhaps one of the best FDM 3D printers on the market.
In their latest trend report, 3D Hubs shows the Zortrax M200 ranking second, right behind the FormLabs Form 1+.
Furthermore, the Zortrax M200 has an 8.9 user rating on 3D Hubs which is better than other FDM powerhouses like the LulzBot Taz 5.
The Zortrax wins in every category you’d judge a 3D printer in… it can hit very high quality prints, it is incredibly user-friendly, it’s reliable, it comes working right out of the box, and it has a good print volume.
Ultimately, the Zortrax M200 has a large print bed, is very reliable (as far as reliability can go with 3D printers) and is capable of producing high-quality prints.
If you’re willing to spend ~$2,000, the choice comes down to either the M200 or the MakerGear M2. And, you might as well flip a coin there, because both of those printers are phenomenal.
LulzBot Taz 5 OverviewThe LulzBot TAZ 5 is one of the more feature rich 3D printers under $2,500 on the market.
It comes with a heated print bed and the ability to print with an array of different filaments, including ABS, PLA, HIPS, PVA, and even wood filaments.
Not only that, but the TAZ 5 has the biggest print bed in its class and LulzBot’s open source platform will allow you to print your own parts for upgrades and modifications.
And, more importantly, the Taz 5 can produce high quality prints on a consistent basis.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a high quality 3D printer in the low $2,000’s, then the TAZ 5 is probably the best option on this list.
